A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The installation was on January 12, 1940 and the musical selections performed were all students at Clovis High School, there was dancing and refreshments that were enjoyed by all.
In February there was discussion of having a dinner before the stated meeting to try and increase attendance. This is something we are still doing today... trying to increase attendance that is...hehehe. But we still do serve a mean dinner before most stated meetings.
After the Lodge closed in March's stated meeting, Bro. H. Slocum, in charge of construction of Friant Dam, gave a very interesting talk on that subject.
On June 22, 1940 at 9:30 a.m., the Lodge opened for the purpose of laying to rest, Bro. R. Matthews PM of Clovis Lodge at the Clovis Cemetery. Remarks made about Bro Matthews, "will be long remembered as a true and upright Mason, and a loyal member of Clovis Lodge."
Past Mater's night was a huge success in December and there were quite a few present including Bro. Sam Dollar, Inspector of the 61st Masonic District, who remarked as to "what a good job the Past Masters of Clovis Lodge did on the degree and how lucky Clovis Lodge was to have such a group of men who devote their selves to the Lodge."
The Lodge utensil's kept disappearing and a motion was made and carried that no one was to remove anything of Lodge property without the express consent of the Lodge.
